Best Hotel Design Award

One of 14 categories, the Best Hotel Design award showcases new, restored, and refurbished hotels and resorts that show innovation and originality in their interior design. Elements’ new take on barefoot luxury not only represented Australia in the category, but earned the prize.

Devised by Rowena Cornwell of Coop Creative the resort’s unique style reinterprets the rustic landscape of untouched Belongil Beach. Snippets of natural colour, texture, and shape play alongside five-star luxury, forming an accommodation experience that is both authentic and glamorous.

About the SBID International Design Awards

Established by the Society of British and International Design (SBID), the International Design Awards are some of the most prestigious in the industry.

The awards cover categories ranging from restaurants and bars to healthcare facilities and public spaces. Judges are spoilt with entries from over 40 countries worldwide, each with a distinctive source of inspiration. Winners are recognised around the globe as being leaders in contemporary design, and are awarded an exclusively crafted San Souci crystal trophy.

The judging process is rigorous, with a panel composed of design professionals from Google and the BBC, among others. Each entry is analysed and ranked according to technical innovation and creative flair.

In addition, SBID casts an online public vote, which counts for 30 per cent of the final result. IP addresses are meticulously supervised to prevent cheating.
