Guided Rainforest and Estuary Walks

Guided rainforest walk

Elements of Byron’s diverse ecologies include dunal, wetlands, wooded forest and rainforest. The site is blessed with its very own littoral rainforest which backs onto the Belongil creek and expansive estuary. Join the resorts very own naturalist and land manager for a scheduled guided walk exploring the rainforest or estuary.

Every tour spots plenty of birds which regularly change with the seasons as well as searching for other animals, tracks and traces.

The Guided rainforest walk explores walking tracks & viewing areas in the Coastal Littoral Rainforest and it’s on site surroundings.  This ecological community is critically endangered and contains an amazing mix of vegetation & wildlife. Come along and get an insight into the diversity that this site and region supports. Interpretation in the rainforest includes sampling seasonal bush tucker from a variety of plants which may include grasses, ground covers, fruiting trees and vines. Some opportunistic bird & fauna spotting will also occur throughout the guided walk.

Birds, beach & history walk

The Birds, beach and history walk gives guests an overview of the resort and Byron Bay’s history and bird watching over the important breeding & feeding ground of the Belongil estuary. This Coastal Ecosystem within and adjoining the resort provides a valuable local habitat for significant flora and fauna including migrating & endangered species, come and learn more about its interesting occupants.

Both Tours encourage people to connect with the environment around them and help to foster appreciation for the environment and promote sustainable eco-tourism.
